Village Life Outreach Project has been SHED's most extensive and enduring international nonprofit partner. The relationship reaches back to SHED's earliest years and has connected community priorities in Roche, Nyambogo and Burere with fundraising, professional expertise and volunteers from the United States.
Roche Health Center and its reproductive and child health facility; medical brigades and mobile outreach; school nutrition and scholarships; community water systems; village health and water committees. SHED provides year-round local presence and implementation while Village Life mobilizes financial resources, volunteers, university relationships and technical support.
It demonstrates SHED's core model: local leadership plus long-term international collaboration producing permanent infrastructure — health facilities, water systems and programs that outlast any single visit or grant.
