SHED Foundation is a Tanzanian nonprofit organization founded in 2006 to improve health, education, and community development in underserved communities in northern Tanzania.
Today, SHED works closely with Village Life Outreach Project and local communities to support sustainable health, education, and development initiatives in the Shirati region.
The foundation was registered in Tanzania as a not-for-profit company.
NGO status was granted by the Government of Tanzania.
The organization continues to work in health, education, and development from its Shirati base.
Head office and community roots remain in the village where the foundation began.
The work is rooted in the rural communities around Lake Victoria and the Kenya-Tanzania border.
SHED’s mandate allows the organization to support underserved communities wherever the need is strongest.
