About us

Health, education and community development in northern Tanzania.

SHED Foundation is a Tanzanian nonprofit organization founded in 2006 to improve health, education, and community development in underserved communities in northern Tanzania.

Who we are

Working in partnership with the communities of Shirati.

Today, SHED works closely with Village Life Outreach Project and local communities to support sustainable health, education, and development initiatives in the Shirati region.

Our history

Built in Shirati, with a wider mandate across mainland Tanzania.

24 January 2006

The foundation was registered in Tanzania as a not-for-profit company.

21 March 2006

NGO status was granted by the Government of Tanzania.

Today

The organization continues to work in health, education, and development from its Shirati base.

Head office in Shirati, with a mandate across mainland Tanzania.

Shirati

Head office and community roots remain in the village where the foundation began.

The work is rooted in the rural communities around Lake Victoria and the Kenya-Tanzania border.
