INCTR supported Burkitt lymphoma work connected to SHED and Bugando Medical Centre. SHED received and administered funds associated with a Burkitt lymphoma treatment trial and maintained the financial reporting and transfers needed to support clinical work at Bugando.
SHED's role was administrative but essential. International clinical and research programs often fail when funds cannot be moved, documented and reconciled reliably between outside institutions and local implementing sites. SHED provided that bridge. Its accounting and institutional structure allowed resources to reach the Tanzanian clinical program while maintaining records and communication with the international organization.
The relationship shows that SHED's execution capacity includes not only direct service delivery but also the financial and administrative systems that allow partner institutions to conduct specialized work in Tanzania.
