The Epidemiology of Burkitt Lymphoma in East African Children and Minors (EMBLEM) study investigated childhood Burkitt lymphoma with NCI/NIH support. SHED's role in Tanzania covered research administration, laboratory and field activities, regional case identification and coordination — led by Dr. Esther Kawira as Tanzania Principal Investigator, with Bugando Medical Centre and AFENET in the wider network.
