Nyambogo has been a long-term SHED and Village Life partner community, with extensive work in water, education, health and community development. The village's water challenges led to years of engineering collaboration involving SHED, Village Life and Engineers Without Borders, including borehole and distribution-system work.
Local water and community committees have been essential to system management, fee collection, maintenance and communication with residents. SHED works between those committees and outside technical partners, helping explain engineering decisions, organize repairs, coordinate funds and connect the village to government water authorities when broader support is needed.
Nyambogo shows why SHED's long-term presence matters. Infrastructure problems do not end when construction finishes. SHED remains available when systems break, committees need support or new partners must be brought in to protect the original investment.
